Assistant Professor of Teacher Education
Dr. Jieun Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education. She holds her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Boston College. Her research focuses on developing positive mathematics learning environments with a particular emphasis on peer interactions, socioeconomic factors, and the integration of educational tools. Dr. Lee is also deeply engaged in exploring foundational theories and practices in curriculum development.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Lee spent five years as an elementary school teacher in South Korea. During this time, she gained valuable insights into the practical aspects of teaching young learners and developed a foundation for integrating culturally responsive teaching perspectives into her scholarly work. She has also taught a range of college and graduate-level courses, including Curriculum Theories, Practice & Design; Designing Learning Environments; and Models and Theories of Instructional Design.
Dr. Lee is committed to advancing teacher education and fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment for her students as well as within the broader educational community.
