Director of Didactic Education
Mr. Nathan M. Setka, Major (Ret.), MPAS, APA-C, and Clinical Assistant Professor, is a dedicated healthcare professional with a rich military and civilian medical service background. With over two decades of military service and extensive experience in various clinical and educational settings, Mr. Setka exemplifies a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and community service.
Mr. Setka's military medical education journey commenced with completing the Interservice Physician Assistant Program Phase I in 2005, followed by Phase II in 2006. His pursuit of excellence continued with specialized training in Emergency Medicine PA Basic (2008), USA Flight Surgeon Course (2014), Joint Enroute Care Course (2015), and Tropical Medicine Course (2016). This comprehensive training laid the foundation for his distinguished healthcare career.
Throughout his career, Setka has held civilian clinical appointments in esteemed institutions such as the Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute in Alpharetta, GA, and Northside Family Medicine and Urgent Care in Atlanta, GA, where he currently serves. His clinical expertise encompasses many areas, including emergency medicine, family medicine, aeromedical medicine, and urgent care, reflecting his versatility and dedication to providing comprehensive patient care.
Mr. Setka has made significant contributions as an educator in various PA programs. He served as Didactic Principal Faculty at South College PA Program in Atlanta, GA, from September 2020 to December 2022. He later joined Lincoln Memorial University PA Program in Tampa, FL, from January 2023 to May 2024 as the Director of Didactic Education. Mr. Setka holds the Director of Didactic Education position at Berry College PA Program in Rome, GA, where he continues to impart his knowledge and expertise to future generations of healthcare professionals.
Mr. Setka's military service is marked by numerous appointments and deployments, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to serving his country. From his roles as a Battalion PA and Brigade APA in Schofield Barracks, HI, to his tenure as TMC #6 OIC in Dahlonega, GA, Mr. Setka's military journey is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty.
With board certifications from the NCCPA and licensure in Georgia, along with memberships in prestigious organizations such as the AAPA, GAPA, PAEA, and SAPA, Mr. Setka remains at the forefront of his field, dedicated to advancing the practice of medicine and enhancing patient care.
