Dr. Zachary Taylor is the 2019 recipient of the Coosa River Basin Initiative’s Educational Partner Award.
Dr. Taylor teaches an environmental science capstone course that has an Academic Community Engagement component which involves partnering with an organization in the community. The last several classes have worked with Coosa River Basin Initiative on several projects.
This award is given as part of the annual Riverkeeper Awards to honor community members that have done good work to clean water in the previous year. Dr. Taylor will be presented with the award at a ceremony in March.
The Coosa River Basin Initiative is a grassroots environmental organization with the mission to protect, preserve and restore one of North America’s most biologically diverse river systems, the upper Coosa River Basin.
