Dr. Thema Monroe-White, an assistant professor of management, has been invited to serve as a member of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Technical Advisory Committee as a Special Government Employee data scientist.
Dr. Monroe-White will be expected to provide her best independent judgment, based on her expertise in statistics, in developing advice and recommendations for the Department’s consideration. The committee is a discretionary federal advisory committee established by the Secretary of Labor to present advice and make recommendations to the Bureau on technical aspects of the collection and formulation of economic measures. The committee is subject to the Federal Advisory Committee Act and reports to the commissioner. Approximately 16 members are appointed by Bureau and approved by the Secretary.
