Berry College works to find ways to provide certification to our students in the continuous effort to better elevate our graduates and separate them from among their peers. Chemistry Supervisor Thomas Shipman recently received certification as an outreach trainer for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Mr. Shipman's goal is train students (and faculty and staff) in OSHA's General Duty standards and he can issue a 10-hour or 30-hour certificate which technically never expires.
The Dean's Council is currently reviewing a two credit BCC safety course that will allow students to both receive credit on their transcript and receive the 10-hour General Duty card provided they make up any lost class time during the course.
