Berry College Kindermusik welcomes Suzuki Violin as a new course this coming fall with registration open now.
The Suzuki Method uses the ‘mother-tongue’ approach to music education. Students will approach the study of music through listening and imitating. They will master musical skills, instrumental technique, music note reading, performance and artistry through a systematic child-centered curriculum. Parents will attend every class with their child, fostering a special relationship between pupil and parent through the study of music.
The program will include children from ages 4-6 who will receive 15 group lessons each semester. Classes will be held at the Ford building on Mondays from 4:45-5:30 p.m. Further semi-private lessons will occur every other week in the spring semester. The students will perform in a recital at the end of the year.
Berry music students will be in attendance in order to assist and provide additional tutoring. Parents will also receive two introductory classes in August which provide an overview of the class, method and helpful tips for home practice.
Tuition is $250 per semester, including materials and recital fee, except for the instrument rental. It is highly encouraged for parents to commit to the entire year of instruction before beginning class.
Kindermusik of Berry College was also recently named into the Conductor’s Circle of the Maestro program of Kindermusik International for 2016-17 license year. Conductor's Circle Maestro recognition is reserved for the educators who serve the most children. This is only the second time Berry’s program has made it to the Conductor’s circle…which is the top 1% in the world.
