Berry alum Michael Maney, senior director of communications for Target, is the featured speaker for the Mountain Day Convocation Saturday.
Maney will speak at 9 a.m. in the College Chapel. He has also served as director of communications for Sony Pictures Television, the studio responsible for such series as “Breaking Bad,” “The Blacklist” and “Shark Tank”. Before that, Maney spent nearly nine years with The Walt Disney Company, ultimately overseeing internal communications and employee engagement for Disney’s entertainment and news media businesses.
This event will be free and open to the public.
Thousands come home to Berry for Mountain Day Weekend, a celebration of Martha Berry’s birthday and the college’s homecoming, begins Friday, Sept. 30. Mountain Day is celebrated on the first Saturday in October to honor the college’s founder. A tradition lasting over a century, students, faculty and staff, alumni, friends and families are welcome to participate in various events and activities throughout the weekend.
At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Berry College Theatre Company will present “Peter and the Starcatcher” at the BOLD ropes course, which is also open to the public. For info about tickets visit http://www.berry.edu/bctc/
