Student Honors Art Show

Berry College is hosting its annual student honors show in the Moon Gallery on April 12-21.

The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. There is no admission charge.

More than 30 students submitted their work resulting in over 100 entries. The final 65 selections were made by Tommye McClure Scanlin, a Dahlonega-based artist and professor emerita at North Georgia College. She will speak and announce award winners at the exhibition’s opening at 5 p.m. April 12.

With a number of awards, Scanlin is well respected in the art and education community. She currently has “Time Woven,” an exhibit of tapestries and preparatory drawings, paintings and prints, displayed in the Moon Gallery. Scanlin’s exhibit will be open through Friday, April 8.

The student honors show will feature a variety of art styles including painting, drawing, graphic design, ceramics, and more. The opening will be part of Berry’s annual student symposium, a day where students present their research in a number of disciplines.
