Berry College Associate Professor of Biology Renee’ Carleton will give a lecture about bald eagles at 6 p.m. April 2 at Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum.
This lecture is the first installment of the five-part Sanctuary at Berry Lecture Series hosted by Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum during the run of their new exhibition, ""Sanctuary at Berry: Wildlife Photography by Gena Flanigen."" These lectures focus on the research and experience of faculty members with various species found on the Berry campus.
Carleton will address the biology and behavior of bald eagles, general eagle ecology, the history of decline and recovery and the Berry eagle story. The lecture is scheduled around the time Berry’s newest eaglet is expected to begin fledging.
After the lecture on April 2, the galleries will remain open until 8 p.m. Guests are welcome to view the exhibition and will have the chance to speak with both Carleton and Flanigen. The exhibition features work by Flanigen and explores Berry’s wild inhabitants, including a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. Sharing these images offers a chance to examine the rich history of the coexistence of humans and wild animals on the college campus.
