Four more lectures on wildlife are scheduled as part of the new exhibition, “Sanctuary at Berry: Wildlife Photography by Gena Flanigen” at Oak Hill & the Martha Berry Museum.
The lectures focus on the research and experience of Berry College professors with various species found on campus. Guests will be able to attend the lectures and view the exhibit afterwards with a chance to speak with the speaker and photographer Flanigen. Each professor will discuss their research of the respective species found on campus and the community.
- At 6 p.m. April 23, Associate Biology Professor Chris Mowry will give a lecture about coyotes.
- At 6 p.m. May 14, Biology Professor Bill Davin will speak about ""Fishes of the Oostanaula"" which includes research on Striped Bass spawning, the reintroduction of Lake Sturgeon as well as current species found in the river.
- At 10 a.m. June 2, Associate Biology Professor Renee’ Carleton will lecture about Eastern Bluebirds and Berry’s Next Box Program. Carleton kicked off the series with her lecture about Bald Eagles earlier this month.
- At 10 a.m. June 16, Animal Science Professor George Gallagher will talk about fawning season for White-tailed Deer.
These events are free and open to the public.
