ROME, Ga. – Berry College will host a panel discussion about educational inequalities that cripple our society at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 7) in the McAllister Auditorium.
“Our goal with this panel is to discuss topics such as how we can work on closing spending gaps, ways to provide more resources to schools in the community, look at the root causes of dropouts, talk about how a student's home life affects their school work and discuss ways to boost teacher and student morale,” said Berry Bonner Scholar Taylor Corley.
Panelists include North Broad Youth Center Director of Curriculum Janice Merritt, Berry alum and YMCA Director of Outreach Programs Jennifer Jolly, Gordon Central High School Principal Brian Hall and Berry Director of Admission and Enrollment Engagement Glenn Getchell.
This event is organized by the Bonner Scholars Program, one of the largest privately funded service programs in the nation that awards four-year community service scholarships to undergraduates who have a need for financial assistance as well as a commitment to service.
