The Berry College Department of Visual and Performing Arts recently hosted a remote lecture about racial justice within the arts.
Brandon Michael Nase, an artist, performer, and activist based out of New York City, led a discussion on the impact of racial injustice on artistic communities.
Throughout the lecture, Nase discussed the concept of radical empathy and its power in creating safe and equitable spaces for people of color, Black and indigenous people.
As a Black artist and performer, Nase founded Broadway for Racial Justice in 2020, a non-profit organization with the goal of fighting for racial justice and equity within the Broadway and theatrical community.
