Berry College hosted “Love Songs and Lyric Dance” Feb. 3 in the Bell Recital Hall at Ford Auditorium.
The faculty exchange recital was sponsored by the Georgia Music Teachers Association and is a part of Berry’s Guest Artist Series. During the performance, Matthew Wood was on trombone, and Joshua Pifer played the piano.
Wood is an associate professor of trombone at Auburn University. He directs the Auburn University Trombone Choir, the Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, and oversees the low brass studio. Wood received his D.M.A from the University of Texas.
Pifer is an assistant professor of piano at Valdosta State University and serves as the president for the Alabama Music Teachers Association. He spends his summers leading piano faculty at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Festival in Michigan, and artist faculty at the Interharmony Music Festival in Italy. Pifer received his D.M.A from the University of Southern California.
