Berry College Professor Kris Carlisle and Spelman College Professor Hyunjung Rachel Chung recently enthralled the students by performing Piano Four Hands at Bell Recital Hall.
The piano duet involves two players playing the piano simultaneously. Carlisle, also a professional musician, partnered with Chung, a Korean American pianist and recording artist, to perform. Chung is an associate professor and the Chair of the Department of Music at Spelman in Atlanta.
The pieces this duo presented are the result of an international search and request for new compositions for Piano Four Hands and represent new original works from composers around the world. Many of the works featured are compositions dedicated to the Carlisle-Chung Duo. These pieces provide a fresh and intriguing sonic experience to listeners.
