The Berry College Symphony Orchestra recently hosted a concert at the Bell Recital Hall of Ford Auditorium.
The program included music from world-renowned composers Jean Sibelius, Edward Elgar, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Sibelius’ Andante Festivo, Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, and Vaughan Williams’ English Folk Songs Suite were performed.
The symphony is led by Director Eric Hanson. When not directing, he serves as an artist affiliate of low strings for Berry. Hanson is also a member of the Chattanooga Symphony and actively performs in the South with the Huntsville (Alabama) Rome (Georgia), and Bryon Symphony Orchestras. He also is an instructor of double bass at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Maayan Lantzman, a senior music major from Roswell, Georgia, performed an arrangement of a Norwegian folk melody by composer Ole Bull.
