A Berry College professor has been awarded the 2023 Award of Excellence in Documenting Georgia’s History.
The Georgia Historical Records Advisory Committee will present Art History Professor Virginia Gardner Troy with the award in October during National and Georgia Archives Month.
Troy’s book, “Dynamic Design: Jay Hambidge, Mary Crovatt Hambidge, and the Founding of the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences,” provides an important contemporary chronology based on extensive archival research and significant archival discoveries. It also puts Jay Hambidge, Mary Crovatt Hambidge and the Hambidge Center for Creative Art and Sciences into contextual perspective.
