Berry College kicked off classes on Aug. 21, welcoming students back to campus.
The college adds 626 students this year with 73% hailing from Georgia. A total of 25 states and 11 countries are represented in the new class.
Berry’s Office of Student Involvement hosted many community-building events throughout the first-year student orientation called Viking Venture and throughout the first week of classes. Highlights included the annual Rage in the Cage, an event with a glow-in-the-dark disco theme. Campus Outreach hosted the famous Slip-n-Slide on Mountain Campus.
Track and field athletes will notice the expansive new throws venue located between Valhalla and Martha Berry Hwy. The Garland Dickey Field offers multiple throws and spectator viewing areas, and it features a Hammer cage that is the first-of-its-kind nationally.
In academics, Berry now offers majors in Data Analytics and Data Science, responding to expanding career opportunities, as well as a new major in Sport Leadership and Strategy.
