The new Physician Associate program at Berry College has earned regional accreditation after an arduous process.
The Berry College Master of Medical Science - Physician Associate (MMS-PA) Program was granted approval on Jan. 26 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The approval is a major step in welcoming the first class of students in the Fall of 2025.
Berry anticipates matriculating its first class in August 2025, pending achieving Accreditation-Provisional status from the ARC-PA. The two-year Master of Medical Science—Physician Associate degree will be housed with Berry’s growing BSN nursing program in a new 55,000-square-foot Health Sciences Building with a residential component.

Additional information: Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students. The program will not commence in the event that Accreditation-Provisional status from ARC-PA is not received.
