Recent graduate Bruno Rosa made his mark both inside and outside the studio during his time at Berry. His involvement and the connections he made at Berry are what set him up for his current job with Warner Media at Turner Studios.
Bruno, who double majored in visual communications and mathematics, was quick to take advantage of Berry’s mentorship and LifeWorks programs while at Berry. As a freshman, he worked as assistant sports editor and a videographer for Berry’s digital media platform, Viking Fusion. He also served as a research assistant for Assistant Professor of Communication Curt Hersey before being promoted to Executive Director of Viking Fusion his senior year.
Bruno was an avid contributor to campus life and student leadership. He assisted the Berry College First Year Experience program by serving as a student mentor for incoming freshmen, participated in intramural sports and was a member of the Berry College Ultimate Frisbee team. He is a two-time recipient of the Wayne O. Rollins Work Award and was granted the Ned Peterson and Golden Pillar awards. Bruno also received numerous recognitions for his work at Viking Fusion.
On top of his successes at Berry, he completed an internship with the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Bruno gave credit to Berry for helping him achieve the offer from such an acclaimed organization.
“It was at that moment when I realized how Berry was preparing me and providing me with the knowledge/skills necessary for my future endeavors,” Bruno says.
After graduation, Bruno reached out to his own freshman year mentor Grace Barker, who graduated from Berry in 2016, in the hopes of pursuing his career goals. Grace was able to introduce Bruno to the Director of Studio Production for Turner Studios Glen Fisher.
“In March, I got an email saying I was selected to do an online interview, however, I was on a spontaneous spring break trip in Yosemite Park with no Wi-Fi or cellular data,” Bruno says. “So, I texted Grace asking what I should do and that was when Glen called me and asked if we could do the interview on the phone.”
Three days later, Bruno was offered a job.
Bruno now works as an intern at Turner Studios in the role of Assistant Production Equipment Inventory Manager. He enjoys this position and hopes to continue his career with Warner Media as a video technician or camera operator.
