Design
Our staff will collaborate with you to ensure that your project meets your goals, stays within budget and benefits from the full weight of the college’s branding efforts. We offer assistance with design for a range of projects, including print and digital publications, branded banners and signs, marketing-related advertising, and brand logos and artwork. There is no charge for design services. Campus departments are responsible, however, for expenses associated with printing and mailing — including products ordered by Creative Services on their behalf.
The time frame for design depends on the scope of the request and our current project load. Contact our office as soon as you are aware of a project need and deadline - it’s never too early to get a request on our planning calendar, even if you do not yet have all the project details. Our goal is to set a schedule early and identify the resources, steps and time frame necessary to meet your deadline. Most print projects will require a minimum of 2 months notice.
Printing
The college has partnered with Bennett Graphics for all commercial printing. Creative Services staff will design your project, recommend print specifications and place the order with Bennett Graphics for you. Below is some guidance on how we will partner in this process.
Your role:
- Identify your project team and one project owner who will serve as the liaison with Creative Services
- Get budget approval from your administrative official to proceed with any printing and mailing costs
- Submit a “Print or Graphic Design Request” through Hive
- Provide text for your project (Please provide text that has been reviewed by your project team for accuracy and content. The Marketing and Communications team will edit text to adopt style and messaging that is consistent with branding guidelines. If you need assistance with writing, you should also submit a Writing Request through Hive.)
- Route design proofs through your team and provide consolidated instruction on any changes; approve a final, clean proof prior to Creative Services placing the print order
- Pay Bennett Graphics invoices promptly
Our role:
- Assign a designer to work with you and help coordinate necessary resources
- Manage the project schedule
- Provide cost estimates for your approval
- Collaborate on messaging and design, providing proofs for your review and ensuring that the project is on brand
- Order the project on behalf of your department
