Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) welcomes new freshmen and transfer students into the Berry community and answers many important questions.
2024 SOAR Dates

During SOAR, students will:
- Meet an academic advisor to review their fall class schedule
- Find out about the fall housing assignment process and learn how to prepare for life on campus
- Hear about the LifeWorks student work program
- Meet their fellow classmates coming to Berry in the fall
- Meet a team of exceptional SOAR Leaders who are excited to help them transition to Berry College
During SOAR, families will:
- Hear from Berry staff about student life, campus resources, academics at Berry, and the student work program
- Have their questions answered regarding financial aid, student accounts, and campus services
- Learn what it means to be the family of a Berry Viking!
Registration for SOAR will open around April 1. Students register for their preferred SOAR session through their MyBerry Portal.
What students should pack for overnight SOAR:
- Comfortable clothes and walking shoes
- Toiletries
- Phone charger
- Towel, Shower Shoes
- Pillow, linens for twin bed (XL)
- Snacks
- Athletic clothes for social time (optional)
- 2 forms of ID (passport or driver’s license and social security card), immunization records, health insurance card (for check-in process)
- A keychain to keep your room key on
