The Berry College Jazz Ensemble will perform “The Jazz Soul of Porgy and Bess” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 10), in the Ford Auditorium.
Under the direction of John David, the show will feature Bill Pott’s legendary arrangements of themes from Gershwin’s masterpiece through tight and energizing harmonization. The ensemble is known for performing music ranging from exciting new contemporary jazz works to swinging classics. The Berry Jazz Ensemble has been a featured performing group at the Georgia Music Educators Conference and at the world-renowned Spivey Hall.
