The Moon Gallery at Berry College will open its doors at 5 p.m. Jan. 11 for the opening reception to showcase Morgan Alexander’s “…between the sea and the sky” exhibit.
The gallery will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Jan. 12 - Feb. 4.
In “…between the sea and the sky,” Alexander creates art out of items that have been discarded or overlooked. These neglected objects then turn into sculptures, paintings, or even drawings to showcase taking something old that’s from the past and turning it into something new. Such materials could include beehives, reeds, honey, horsehair, found paper and salt.
Alexander was the winner of the 2013-2014 Forward Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award. His work is showcased all around the nation especially in Georgia as he is a graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
