An award-winning author will read an excerpt from her recent novel “All the Names They Used For God” and discuss her literary style at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in the College Chapel at Berry College.
Anjali Sachdeva is a successful author and academic professor whose dystopian novel, “All the Names They Used For God,” won the 2019 Chautauqua Prize and was named a Best Book of 2018 by NPR. Sachdeva is recognized for breaking genre norms. Her work tells stories of multiple characters who are united by their mutual struggle with fate. The book encompasses a multi-genre tale with styles and themes found in science fiction, horror, magical realism and American gothic.
This is her first published book and it has received recognition from the New York Times Book Review, Refinery 29 and BookRiot, was longlisted for the Story Prize and was chosen as the 2018 Fiction Book of the Year by the Reading Women podcast.
Sachdeva currently teaches in the writing program at the University of Pittsburgh, and in the MFA program at Randolph College.
