Berry faculty artist affiliate Sean Thrower and Kennesaw State University faculty artist Trey Wright recently performed with Berry artist-in-residence John David playing percussion.
Thrower holds a bachelor and master's degrees in classical guitar performance from the University of Georgia, where he studied with John Sutherland and founding member of the Georgia Guitar Quartet Philip Snyder. Thrower has played in several rock bands and jazz combos in his career and has performed in master classes for David Russell, Jason Vieaux, Pepe Romero, Eduardo Meirinhos and Sheron Isbin.
Wright is a jazz guitarist, recording artist and composer. He is based in Atlanta and serves on Kennesaw State University’s jazz faculty. He has received international airplay for several of his compositions and has been featured on both Sirius radio and NPR’s All Things Considered. In the summer of 2009, the Trey Wright Trio released Thinking Out Loud with Blue Canoe Records. The CD was one of the few first round Grammy Nominations for Best Jazz Instrumental Album in 2010.
