Outdoor Recreation

The Department of Recreation provides a variety of instructional, recreational and social outdoor programming while emphasizing safety and respect for the environment. Our goal is to provide an array of recreational opportunities for our students and members of the Berry community. In addition, protecting and conserving the 27,000 acres of land are of utmost importance.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages the 16,000-acre Wildlife Management Area on our campus through an agreement with Berry College. DNR provides comprehensive services that include public safety, fire suppression and managed hunts on Berry property. During these hunts, which are held only on designated days, walking, cycling and horse riding trails are closed (with the exception of the Viking Trail).
