REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A NOYCE SCHOLAR
- Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Math or Physics major with a dual major in Secondary Education
- Full-time student
- US citizen or permanent resident
- GPA > 3.0 with GPA > 2.75 in major courses
- Complete an essay
- Faculty recommendation specifying academic strengths
- Additional recommendation attesting to leadership, teaching potential, and/or character
CONTINUING EXPECTATIONS OF NOYCE SCHOLARS
- Graduate within two years of start of funding
- Obtain teacher certification in STEM discipline
- Maintain good standing in STEMTeach program
- Complete program assessments such as surveys and interviews as required by coordinator
- Attend one discipline or program-specific conference each year
POST-GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS OF NOYCE SCHOLARS
- Teach in a high needs school for two years upon graduation for each year of funding
- Regularly attend STEMTeach events, CharterFellows events, and/or virtual meetings with coordinator and mentors
